Routine Prayer

So whether you eat or drink, or whatever you do, do it all for the glory of God. 1 Corinthians 10:31 NIV

Is prayer a part of your daily routine? And is your daily routine part of your prayers? According to Google, we spend approximately 70-90% of each day doing the same routine activities. These are things we often do without having to think too much about them, and—if we are not careful—without including God in them. We might feel like those routine things are things we can handle ourselves, but do you really think God wants to be left out of 70-90% of your life?

Notice that Paul specifically includes the completely ordinary activities of eating and drinking as places we should seek to glorify God. “Even the most regular, seemingly unimportant tasks of my life must be shaped and directed by a heartfelt desire for the glory of God” (Paul David Tripp).

Nothing we do is too small to pray about. Nothing is too boring for God to care about. Take it all to Him today, seek His presence and His glory even in the routine stuff, and let His presence and power fill your life more and more each day!

“Don’t worry about anything; instead, pray about everything. Tell God what you need, and thank him for all he has done” (Philippians 4:6 NLT).
