Honor God in Your Doing
But the one who looks into the perfect law, the law of liberty, and perseveres, being no hearer who forgets but a doer who acts, he will be blessed in his doing. James 1:25 ESV
I recently had to confront a misunderstanding. I had received information that didn't match previously agreed-upon information. To be transparent, I struggled. Thoughts crept in: “Was this on purpose?” “Were they taking advantage of me?” and others. My mind began filling in the blanks, and they weren’t positive.
We planned to meet, but because of illness, we had to delay—more time for my mind to fill in the blanks. So while I waited, I prayed, “Lord, help me surrender this to You. Help me seek the most redemptive path. Help me see this as an opportunity to practice unity in the Body of Christ. Help me stop filling in the blanks and wait.” I prayed these things and more over those few days.
When the day came, the Holy Spirit prompted me to pray before we started. My prayer was essentially that we'd work through this together and leave no room for the enemy. What followed was a great conversation. We both felt safe to share openly, united in the same goal as believers. I left feeling closer to that person, with a stronger foundation of mutual trust.
“Trust in the LORD with all your heart, and do not lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make straight your paths” (Proverbs 3:5-6). If I apply God's truth and not just hear it, I'll be blessed in my doing.

- Wisdom for the Foundation to know how to most effectively strengthen and support the Church of God (Holiness) with the resources they manage.
Kansas Christian College Board of Trustees
- We have several student common areas and “hangout” spaces on campus. Pray that students wouldn’t just pass time, but encounter Truth even in casual moments. Ask God to make these spaces fertile ground for gospel appointments.
World Mission Board
- Bolivia: National President Rev. Dr. Hector Ali, and Liaisons Paul and Lois Confer.
- Grand Cayman: Increase in the number of youth workers and youth.
- Missionaries: That God would supply all needs.
My Local Church
- Families connected to my church, that they will have strong marriages, wisdom for parenting, godly priorities, and financial provision (Isaiah 40:11, Colossians 3:17-21).
