Mothers Welcome!
May 10th was a special day this year as we honored the Mothers in our church.
Pastor Jon began his message by addressing the question, “What Is a Mother?” What qualifies a woman to be called a mother?
1. Mothering is creating an environment that causes a child to live well.
2. Motherhood means caring, feeding, loving, nurturing, protecting.
3. Motherhood means giving quality and value to the continuation of life.
4. There is no such thing as a perfect mother. No one needs to be treated with more tenderness than our mother. Perhaps no one is more caring and conscientious than our mother. Sometimes we are too hard on them. Sometimes they are too hard on themselves. Moms need to laugh and have a good time.
After examining “What Is a Mother?”, Pastor Jon addressed another question – “How Should We Treat Our Mothers, Who Are So Important in Our Lives?”
Paul instructed children not only to obey their parents but to honor them as well.
1. Treat her with respect.
2. Show gratitude for the things she has done for you.
3. Live a life that she can be proud of.
4. Let her know that you love her.
5. Take time for her – especially as she grows older.
